The Pet is a mutoid san pedro I grew from seed. The Oscar x TPQC seed came from misplant. It has very small, and relatively soft spines, so much so that you can pet it if you’re gentle. It so far has grown as a pure crest, not sprouting any vertical columns. The crenelations are small and tight like some kind of alien brain. The photo is the size it is as of writing this. Who knows how big it will get but imagine that thing 2’ x 2’.
Basically it’s a fuggin’ dope cac. My neighbor came over to visit said “I feel like I’m tripping just looking at that thing.” The fine crenelations and packed spine clusters make it look very vibrant and shifty the way plaid with super fine lines does. selected this cactus from many mutant san pedro seedlings as morphologically interesting and because it so far has grown as a pure crest. It’s my favorite SP mut. seedling so far, though I have more under observation.
I selected this cactus from many mutant san pedro seedlings as morphologically interesting and because it so far has grown as a pure crest. It is currently under propagation. I snuck a few small pieces off the mother plant to graft out and they are going very well. Once I have big blobs, I will dissect them and probably root them well before selling. Likely the first cuts will be auctioned off and eventually it may be available in the webstore. It’s my favorite SP mut. seedling so far, though I have more under observation.
