Who’s a cute wittle fuzzy wuzzy awien bwain? Yes you are!

The Pet is a mutoid san pedro I grew from Oscar x TPQC sourced from Misplant. It has very small, and relatively soft spines, so much so that you can pet it if you’re gentle. To date, it has grown as a pure crest, not sprouting any vertical columns. The crenelations are small and tight like some kind of alien brain.

Basically it’s a fuggin’ dope cac bro. My neighbor came over to visit and said “I feel like I’m tripping just looking at that thing.” The fine crenelations and packed spine clusters make it look very vibrant and shifty the way plaid fabric with super fine lines does. This is the kind of mutoid that is worthy of mass propagation for nurseries.

I selected this cactus from many mutant san pedro seedlings as morphologically interesting and because it so far has grown as a pure crest. It may be my favorite SP mutoid seedling so far, though I have more under observation. The only other I’m propagating is Grouch Couch (to the left in photo), which is similarly pure crested growth, but with meatier crenelations and less friendly spines. The Pet is currently under propagation. I discreetly snuck a few small pieces off the mother plant to graft out and they are growing very well. Once I have big grown some big blobs from those, I will dissect them and probably root them well before selling. Likely the first few will be auctioned off and eventually it may be available in the webstore.
